News Topical, Digital Desk : Voting for the 2025 by-elections for 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) took place on Sunday (November 30). Voting percentage, as of 5:30 pm, recorded a total of 38.51% (provisional). Voting was completely peaceful, with no reports of disruption or disturbances. Voting was also not disrupted due to technical problems or malfunctions with EVM machines.

Voting began at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday and ended at 5:30 p.m. The fate of 51 candidates, including 26 women, will be decided. The by-election results will be declared on December 3.

Many leaders including CM Rekha Gupta cast their votes.

Several BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, cast their votes in the by-elections held in 12 wards of the Delhi Municipal Corporation. West Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat and BJP candidate from Dwarka-B ward Manisha Rajpal Sehrawat went to the polling booth and cast their votes. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with her husband Manish Gupta and other family members, went to a polling booth in the Shalimar Bagh area on Sunday to cast their votes. 

The fate of the candidates will be decided on December 3.

In this election, the BJP has fielded the highest number of women candidates, with eight, followed by the AAP with six, and the Congress with five. The BJP performed resoundingly well in the assembly elections held earlier this year, forming a government under the leadership of Rekha Gupta. Following the assembly elections, the MCD by-elections are a contest between the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP, and the Congress. The fate of all candidates will be decided on December 3rd.
