News Topical, Digital Desk : Actor Gajendra Singh Chauhan, who gained a household name playing Yudhishthira in the TV serial Mahabharata, fell victim to cyber fraud. However, prompt action by the Cyber Cell at Mumbai's Oshiwara Police Station secured the entire amount of ₹98,000 withdrawn from his account.
69-year-old actor Gajendra Singh Chauhan lives in the Lokhandwala Oshiwara area of Andheri West. On December 10, he saw an advertisement on Facebook, purportedly from D-Mart, offering steep discounts on dry fruits. As soon as he clicked on the link in the advertisement and completed the order process, an OTP was sent to his mobile. Moments later, he received a message stating that Rs 98,000 had been debited from his HDFC Bank account.
The police took prompt action and resolved the matter
According to reports, upon suspecting fraud, the actor immediately contacted the police and filed a complaint. The Oshiwara police cyber team, led by Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan and Police Inspector Anand Pagare, immediately launched an investigation. Cyber Sub-Inspector Sharad Devare, Assistant Police Inspector Ashok Konde, and Constable Vikram Sarnobat examined the complaint filed on the 1930 helpline and the bank statement.
The entire amount was returned to the actor's account.
Investigation revealed that the fraudulent amount was transferred via Razorpay to an account linked to Croma. Police then coordinated with the nodal officers of HDFC Bank, Razorpay, and Croma via email. Due to the swift police action, the transaction was halted in a timely manner, and the entire amount was returned to the actor's account.

Feeling relieved by the promptness of Oshiwara Police, actor Gajendra Singh Chauhan expressed his gratitude to the officials of Mumbai Police and Oshiwara Police.
