News Topical, Digital Desk : Built by Swami Maharaj, the world-renowned London BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, popularly known as the "Neasden Temple," has been visited by millions of people from India and abroad over the past thirty years, from 1992 to the present day. These include ordinary citizens as well as many distinguished dignitaries. The temple's divine aura leaves an indelible mark on the heart of every visitor.

Today, October 30, 2025, King Charles III of Britain and his wife, Queen Camilla, visited the temple with Neasden. On this occasion, Jitubhai Patel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the London BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, welcomed the royal family. This was their first visit to the temple as King and Queen, following previous visits as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

Made a sustained significant contribution to British society

The Royal Family's numerous previous visits to the temple have demonstrated their long-standing and affectionate relationship with the BAPS Hindu community. Since its opening in 1992, the Neasden Temple has become an internationally renowned spiritual and cultural centre. A unique symbol of devotion, service, and Indian culture, the temple has consistently made significant contributions to British society through a range of service initiatives, including child and youth development, senior care, health, and humanitarian aid.

During their visit, the royal couple met with temple volunteers and the community to learn about the temple's service activities, including its long-standing partnership with The Felix Project, a London-based charity that distributes surplus food to help alleviate hunger among vulnerable people and is an integral part of King Charles' Coronation Food Project.

During the meeting, the royal couple also learned about the BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Temple, Paris, which will be inaugurated in September 2026. This will be the first traditional Hindu temple in France. They also met with key members of the temple construction project team.

Prayers and blessings to the royal family

Saint Yog Vivekdas Swami, Chief Caretaker of the London Temple, commented, "The devotee community is delighted to welcome the Royal couple to the Neasden Temple on this historic occasion. We express our deep gratitude for their friendship and their continued interest in the Temple's social service work."

His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj, the spiritual head of the worldwide BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, expressed his prayers and blessings for the royal family through a video message from India, saying, "During your decades of public service, you have valued faith and promoted harmony among religions; your presence here today is a testimony to this."

In addition, Mahant Swami Maharaj, in a personal letter to King Charles, blessed the entire UK nation for progress and prosperity.
