Maintain the natural oil of the ears, this will prevent the risk of infection.  Dry skin  can cause problems and sometimes inserting fingers also increases the risk of itching or infection. After bathing or swimming, put toilet paper or a very thin clean cloth on the little finger and wipe as far as possible. If a light yellow color appears on the paper or cloth, then there is no need to panic. Do not clean the ears further.

Wax is a must

Having earwax does not mean that your ears are dirty or unhealthy. Wax is important for ear health because it contains an enzyme that can kill bacteria and viruses that enter the ear. It also keeps the skin moisturized. Never try to remove wax at home, it can be dangerous.

  • If there is any problem related to the ears, using earplugs while swimming helps a lot. However, for people who have ear problems, swimming in a river or sea can be more harmful.
  • Ears get blocked during air travel which is a very uncomfortable feeling. Chewing something during this time provides relief. Drinking water or juice at regular intervals also helps.
