
News Topical, Digital Desk : Torrential rains have caused massive destruction in China, in which 38 people have died so far. More than 80 thousand people have been taken to safer places due to heavy rains.
Electricity supply disrupted in 136 villages
The traffic system has been badly affected. Out of these 38 deaths, 30 people have died in Beijing alone, while eight people lost their lives due to landslides in Hebei province. Dozens of roads have been damaged in the area and electricity has been cut off in 136 villages.
The red alert has been withdrawn on Tuesday due to the decrease in the pace of rain. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain again in the afternoon and evening.
More than 12,800 people displaced
Also, in Mentougou district, 15,195 people were evacuated as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, while all 19 major tourist sites here have been closed. More than 12,800 people have been displaced in Pinggu district. 40 emergency shelters have been set up here, including schools, gyms, hotels and panchayat buildings.
