Big B got a huge amount for this film
The name of the film we are talking about here is 'Aaj Ka Arjun'. Jaya Prada played the lead role in this film along with Big B. At the same time, the responsibility of directing it was taken up by KC Bokadia. The amazing thing is that he started his career as a director through this film. Before this, he used to work as a producer.
KC Bokadia has talked about this film in an interview. He wanted to sign Amitabh Bachchan for this film, but his manager was a little hesitant, because this was Bokadia's first film as a director. Because of this, the manager quoted Big B's fee as 80 lakhs, whereas the fee was only 70 lakhs.
Big B did not take 1 crore
Completing his point, Bokadia further said that 'Amitabh's then manager thought that I would refuse after hearing the high fee. But I replied that I can even give Rs 1 crore to work with such a big superstar. At that time, hardly any actor used to get such a huge amount as fee.
The director also revealed that during the shooting, his bonding with Big B had become so strong that he took only Rs 70 lakh instead of Rs 1 crore, which was his fee at that time.
