News Topical, Digital Desk : The film "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" is currently dominating the box office in terms of earnings. After a strong opening weekend,  "Dhurandhar 2" is also showing its commercial brilliance on weekdays. But you might be surprised to learn that despite the bumper collections, Ranveer Singh's "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" lost to superstar Salman Khan's blockbuster.

Despite grossing over 50 crore rupees at the box office on its first Monday, Dhurandhar 2 failed to break Bhaijaan's record. Let's understand the matter in detail:

Dhurandhar The Revenge could not break this record

Monday marked the fifth day of release for Dhurandhar The Revenge. Despite being a non-holiday, director Aditya Dhar's film made a strong box office collection. According to a Pinkvilla report, Dhurandhar 2 grossed an estimated ₹55 crore on its first Monday, a significant figure in itself.

Despite this, Dhurandar: The Revenge remained in second place for the highest grossing film on its first Monday, behind Salman Khan's spy thriller Tiger 3, which is slated for a theatrical release in 2023. Reportedly, Tiger Part 3 grossed over ₹56 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) at the domestic box office on its first Monday. However, it was Diwali, and Salman Khan's film benefited from the festive season.

Despite thi impressive earnings, Dhurandhar The Revenge has fallen behind Salman Khan's Tiger 3. However, overall, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Hindi film to earn the highest grossing within five days of its release.

500 crores crossed in 5 days

So far, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has grossed ₹503 crore (US$1.2 billion) at the domestic box office, achieving such a massive gross in the first five days is history in itself. It's believed that Dhurandhar 2 will be the first Bollywood film to surpass the ₹1000 crore (US$1.2 billion) mark at the box office.
