News Topical, Digital Desk : In Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, a political and social controversy has erupted over an alleged controversial statement by Samajwadi Party leader Yadunanand Lal. During his speech, he allegedly made objectionable remarks about Lord Shri Ram and religious figures associated with him, sparking protests from social media to political circles. Demands for action have intensified, and the police have begun efforts to arrest him. Lal is claimed to be the state secretary of the Samajwadi Party.
Samajwadi Party MP Anand Bhadoria distanced the party from the entire matter, stating that Yadunanand Lal does not hold any position in the Samajwadi Party. He added, "We strongly condemn his statement and the Samajwadi Party has nothing to do with it." He also stated that Samajwadi Party members are also believers of Lord Shri Ram.
What did the police say?
Satyendra Singh, Circle Officer of Hardoi district's Harpalpur Circle, stated that Yadunanand Lal made objectionable and derogatory remarks about Hindu deities during his speech. Police are taking the matter seriously and efforts are underway to arrest him.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, "On a holy day like Ram Navami, a Samajwadi Party leader is making offensive statements against Mother Kaushalya. The people of Uttar Pradesh will answer and punish the Samajwadi Party."
Meanwhile, after the controversy escalated, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary also responded to the issue. She said that in the name of protest, the opposition has forgotten its decorum and culture. According to her, some people think that by insulting Lord Shri Ram, they are opposing an ideology, but they do not realize that the name of Lord Shri Ram or Ramrajya is not merely a method of worship but a pledge for good governance. She said that strict action should be taken against those who repeatedly make such derogatory remarks.
All India Hindu Mahasabha expressed protest
Hindu organizations have also expressed strong opposition to this matter. Shishir Chaturvedi, spokesperson for the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, filed a complaint with the police at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, demanding strict action against the SP leader. In his letter, Shishir Chaturvedi alleged that Yadunanand Lal had insulted Lord Shri Ram, Mother Kaushalya, and sacred yagnas in a video released on social media, deeply hurting the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma.
He also said that such comments promote caste divisions in society and harm social harmony. According to him, some SP leaders have previously been accused of insulting Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sita, and the Ramcharitmanas. He demanded that strict legal action be taken against such leaders.
