How to file ITR for a deceased person?

- Now upload all the required documents like death certificate, succession certificate, will, affidavit etc.
- Then click on submit.
- Now the Income Tax Department will review your application. As soon as the request is approved, that is, as soon as your identity is approved by the department, you will be able to file ITR for the deceased for the year in which he died.
- Now go to your e-filing account and log in as legal heir.
- Then select the filing option and assessment year.
- Click on the option of File as Legal Heir, select the PAN of the deceased and fill the ITR form.
