News Topical, Digital Desk : Iran's exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi on Friday, January 16, urged the international community to take immediate action against Iran's ruling system. "The Islamic Republic is on the brink of collapse, and this will only increase the loss of life and property," Pahlavi said.
Pahlavi, at a press conference in Washington, described the current conflict in Iran not as one between reform and revolution but between occupation and liberation.
Pahlavi appealed for help
"The truth is now undeniable. The so-called Islamic Republic is not the government of Iran. It is a hostile occupying force that has taken over our homeland," Pahlavi said at a packed press conference in Washington.
Pahlavi accused the Iranian government of using widespread violence against civilians. Reza Pahlavi said, "The people of Iran are being killed in the streets and homes by a regime that shows no mercy." Pahlavi claimed that more than 12,000 Iranians were massacred in 48 hours.
Regarding the violence in Iran, Pahlavi alleged that even injured protesters were being targeted. "Khamenei's killers even pursued injured protesters in hospitals and brutally killed them," Pahlavi said.
Iran near collapse
Pahlavi said that despite the violence, the regime's position is weakening. The Islamic Republic is on the verge of collapse, so they are becoming violent like a wounded animal, desperate to cling to power.
Pahlavi called on the international community to take specific steps to protect civilians. "Protect the Iranian people by weakening the Iranian regime's repressive capabilities," he said. Regarding economic pressure on the government, Pahlavi said, "Block their assets worldwide, target and destroy their fleet of fake tankers."
