How many deaths in Indore?
Let us tell you that on Friday, the Madhya Pradesh government presented a status report on the ongoing contaminated water crisis in the Bhagirathpura area of the city in the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The approximately 15-page report officially stated that four people have died due to drinking contaminated water.
The report also said that around 200 people are admitted in different hospitals, of which 35 are in the intensive care unit. The matter, which was a public interest litigation filed by Indore High Court Bar Association President Advocate Ritesh Inani, was listed before a division bench of Justice Dwarkadhish Bansal and Justice Rajendra Kumar Vani. Petitioner Ritesh Inani termed the government's argument as a last-minute hasty action.
He said the government has submitted its report. According to this report, only four people have died from drinking the contaminated water supplied. The approximately 15-page report states that 200 people are in hospitals, and 35 are in intensive care units (ICUs) at various hospitals. The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for January 6.
An intervener in the case urged the court to ban media publications on the issue to prevent misinformation. However, the bench did not comment on this request. Four deaths have been officially confirmed.
