News Topical, Digital Desk : With the onset of rains, it is natural for humidity to increase and waterlogging to occur at many places. This creates an environment for the growth of viruses and bacteria. In such a situation, a little carelessness can lead to diseases like dengue, malaria and stomach infection. To avoid this (Monsoon Health T), we have to prepare at three levels. First, we have to keep food and water clean, second, we have to avoid stomach and skin infections caused by contaminated water and third, we have to be cautious about diseases like dengue and malaria caused by mosquitoes.
Take these 5 precautions during monsoon
Be cautious in eating and drinking
In monsoon, the risk of illness increases due to water contamination and lack of cleanliness around. In such a situation, if drinking water and food are also unhygienic, then it is natural for you to get stomach infection and fall ill. Actually, in this season, due to fluctuations in humidity and temperature, food gets spoiled quickly. This kind of food can make you sick. Also, stored or half-cooked food can also cause infection. Unhygienic food causes stomach-related illnesses.
Get water from a clean and safe source
In some places, the supply of clean water is disrupted. This increases the dependence on boring or outside water. Using unclean water can be risky for health. Due to contaminated water, many problems like stomach upset, intestinal infection, diarrhea are seen more these days. Therefore, it is important to be more careful while taking water from an unknown source or from a roadside vendor. Use only clean water from home.
It is important to avoid mosquitoes
During the rainy season, one needs to be very cautious about mosquito-borne diseases. Especially when the rains stop, the mosquito menace increases. There are three types of problems in this, dengue, malaria and chikungunya caused by mosquito bites. If malaria is identified on time, then the right treatment is done. But, the problem in dengue can be serious. Many times, it leads to admission in ICU. In case of chikungunya infection, joint pain persists for weeks and months.
Do not get stomach and skin infections
Impure water can cause stomach infection, diarrhea, cholera etc. There is a risk of skin infection from such water. Those who already have skin problems can have serious problems. Skin diseases can also occur due to clothes not drying properly or moisture remaining in them. Clothes should be worn only after drying them thoroughly. Similarly, if the hair remains wet, then problems like fungus, itching or allergy can also occur in the head, so the head should be kept thoroughly dry.
