News Topical, Digital Desk : For the past few years, discussions about 'one nation, one election' have been gaining momentum across the country. This idea is not only making its place in the political corridors but is now also making its place in the educational and social forums.

In this context, to understand the thinking and perspectives of the youth, the National Youth Parliament was organized by the joint efforts of Delhi Municipal Corporation and Youth X Connect, under which the students got a platform to express their views.

A grand event was organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Center

About 240 students from various schools of Delhi and Delhi University participated in this National Youth Parliament organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civic Center, the headquarters of Delhi Municipal Corporation, on the topic 'One Nation, One Election'.

During this, prominent leaders and officials like Delhi Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh, Deputy Mayor Jai Bhagwan Yadav, Standing Committee Chairman Satya Sharma, Leader of the House Pravesh Vahi, BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal, Delhi State Organization Minister Pawan Rana, Delhi State General Secretary Vishnu Mittal, Councilor and Convenor Shashi Yadav and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ashwani Kumar were present.

The mayor explained the far-reaching benefits of 'one nation, one election'

On this occasion, Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh praised the students' ideas and said that 'one nation, one election' is an idea that can change the future direction of the country. He said that if the Lok Sabha and all state legislative assemblies' elections are held simultaneously, it will not only increase transparency in the electoral process, but will also bring stability in governance and speed up the implementation of policies.

There will be a huge reduction in expenditure if simultaneous elections are held

The mayor also said that at present, about one lakh crore rupees are spent on a general election. If elections are held simultaneously, this amount can be reduced significantly and the savings can be invested in development schemes. Also, the development work which gets stopped due to frequent imposition of code of conduct will continue to run smoothly.

 The thinking of the youth is a good sign for the country: Bansal

At the same time, BJP's national general secretary Sunil Bansal praised the students' views and said that the issue of one nation, one election is a big and serious one, and if it is in the national interest, then we should stand in its support. He said that the seriousness of the youth on this issue shows that the country's future is in aware hands.
