News Topical, Digital Desk : There was a coup in Bangladesh last year. Due to the protest movement led by the students, Sheikh Hasina not only had to be ousted from power but she also had to flee the country and take refuge in India. Sheikh Hasina came to India with her sister in Bangladesh's military plane. A Bangladeshi newspaper told in detail how Sheikh Hasina came to India from Bangladesh with complete planning. The report tells how Sheikh Hasina exited Bangladesh and reached India. The report said that first false news was spread that his plane would land at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport in Kolkata, but his plane landed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad.

Why did Sheikh Hasina come to Delhi after giving information about Kolkata?

The report said that Sheikh Hasina knew that if she had told that she would be going to Delhi, then her plane would have to stay in Bangladesh's airspace for a longer time. Whereas, to come to Kolkata, her plane would not have to stay in Bangladesh's airspace for long.

The information about where her plane would land was kept completely confidential. Sheikh Hasina's plane that took off for Ghaziabad was given the code name Squad. After taking off from Dhaka to Kolkata, it was informed that it was a training plane. This information was given to the air traffic control so that it could not be confirmed that Sheikh Hasina was on board the plane.

What happened on August 5th?

The plane took off from the Bangladesh Air Force's Bangabandhu base after 3 pm. The plane was given a 'squawk code' of 4131. However, after taking off from Dhaka, the plane switched off its transponders, which sent identifying information such as the plane's 'squawk code', altitude, speed and location. It was now 'invisible' to ATC radars, whether in Dhaka, Kolkata or elsewhere, although communication with ground control was maintained to ensure the plane's safe flight. Sheikh Hasina, her sister and others were on board the plane. Sheikh Hasina sought permission from India to get asylum in India because her life is in danger in Bangladesh. The former Prime Minister reached Ghaziabad just a few hours after the plane took off from Dhaka.
