News Topical, Digital Desk : At the start of Parliament's Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised all MPs to take seriously the points outlined by the President at the beginning of the session and for 2026. PM Modi also mentioned the trade deal between the EU and India.
PM Narendra Modi said, “Yesterday's speech by the President was an expression of the trust of 140 crore Indians, an account of their capabilities and a blueprint of their aspirations, especially the aspirations of the youth. For all the MPs, the President also said many things to guide them. The expectations expressed by the President at the beginning of the session and for 2026 - I am sure all the MPs would have taken this seriously.”
What did PM Modi say about the goal of developed India?
The Prime Minister said, "One-fourth of the 21st century has passed. This is the beginning of the next quarter. To achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, a crucial period of these 25 years has begun. The first budget of this second quarter of the century is about to be presented. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is the first Finance Minister of the country, the first woman Finance Minister of the country who is presenting the budget in Parliament for the 9th consecutive time. This has been recorded as a proud moment in the parliamentary history of the country."
What did PM Modi say on India-EU trade deal?
Speaking on the India-EU trade deal, PM Narendra Modi said, "This quarter has started on a very positive note. A confident India has become a ray of hope for the world today. It has also become a centre of attraction. At the beginning of this quarter, India and the European Union signed a free trade agreement. This is a testimony to how bright the future is, how bright the future is for Indian youth. This free trade is for ambitious India, for aspiring youth, for a self-reliant India. I am confident that especially Indian manufacturers will use this opportunity to enhance their capabilities."
