
News Topical, Digital Desk : Aditya Birla Group's flagship company Hindalco has released the results for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025 i.e. January-March. After Hindalco's results in the fourth quarter were better than expected, the stock was seen operating with a gain of about a quarter percent even in a falling market. The company's results have been better on the basis of strong operations, favorable economic conditions and low costs. Hindalco's subsidiary Novelis has also performed well despite the challenges.
Hindalco: Details of March quarter results
During January-March, Hindalco's standalone profit grew 10.5% year-on-year to ₹ 1,561 crore from ₹ 1,412 crore last year. The company's revenue grew 13.4% to ₹ 25,116 crore from ₹ 22,140 crore last year.
EBITDA (operating profit) grew 35.5% to ₹ 3,008 crore, and EBITDA margin stood at 11.98% from 10.03% last year. Consolidated revenue was a record ₹ 64,890 crore, up 16% from last year.
Aluminium Business
Aluminium upstream revenue grew 22% to ₹ 10,311 crore. EBITDA grew 78.6% to Rs 4,838 crore, with EBITDA per tonne being $1,684. It has shown a growth of 74%. Margin was the best in the industry at 47%. The company acquired Meenakshi coal mine, which has an annual capacity of 12 million tonnes. Quarterly EBITDA of aluminium downstream grew 52% to Rs 219 crore. This figure is the highest ever. Copper Business Copper metal sales stood at 135 KT, which is the same as last year. But copper rod (CCR) sales grew 12% to a record level of 109 KT. Copper business income grew 8% to Rs 14,565 crore. EBITDA stood at Rs 614 crore. Copper tube project is in a position to start. Copper recycling project is also running on time. The company will also pay dividend The board has also decided to pay a dividend of ₹5 per share for the financial year 2024-25. These dividends will be issued at a face value of Rs 1 per share. What did the management say on the results? Hindalco Managing Director Satish Pai said, "Hindalco performed its best ever in FY25. Strong operations, cost discipline and consistent growth in all businesses are the reason for this. The aluminum upstream business remained our strong base, while the copper business achieved record EBITDA. Novelis also performed well with increased demand for beverage cans."
