In this connection, the Meteorological Department has again issued an alert of heavy to very heavy rains in some states today.

Today, on August 19, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. There is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains along with thunder, lightning and thunder in these states.

Heavy rains will continue especially on the Konkan coast. Flood situation has arisen in Mumbai for the last few days. Roads have been closed due to waterlogging in Andheri subway, Karla and Lokhandwala. At the same time, the speed of local trains has also slowed down due to waterlogging on the railway tracks.

However, there is no possibility of Mumbai getting any relief from rain yet. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in Mumbai for the fourth consecutive day today.

Yellow alert issued in Himachal-Uttarakhand

Talking about the hilly states, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain till August 22 in many districts including Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, a yellow alert for rain has also been issued in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Dehradun and Nainital in Uttarakhand.

Humidity will increase in Delhi NCR

The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in some areas of Delhi NCR till August 21, which is likely to increase the humid heat. However, the weather will change in the capital and surrounding areas from August 22. According to IMD, thunderstorms along with heavy rains are expected in Delhi on August 22, 23 and 24.

The heat will wreak havoc on the people of UP and Bihar

Uttar Pradesh may witness strong sunlight and humid heat till August 21. The temperature is likely to rise during this period. At the same time, light rain is expected in some areas of western UP. According to IMD, the weather will be favorable for UP from August 21 onwards, with heavy rains expected in many districts.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in Bihar as well. However, this will increase the temperature and humidity is likely to increase.

Alert in 14 districts of MP

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 14 districts of Madhya Pradesh within the next 24 hours. This list includes the names of Dewas, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Narmadapuram and surrounding districts.
