Hari-Har meeting will be done on this day
The Chaturdashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of the Kartik month begins at 9:35 pm on November 3rd. This Tithi ends at 6:06 pm on November 4th. Therefore, the Hari-Har Milan festival will be celebrated on November 3rd.
Why is this day celebrated?
According to mythological beliefs, during Chaturmas, Lord Vishnu rests in the netherworld, and Lord Shiva manages the universe. However, when Lord Hari awakens after the end of Chaturmas, Mahadeva reassigns the control of the universe to him.
This is a day when garlands of Tulsi and Bel leaves are exchanged. It is the only day when Tulsi is offered to Mahadev and Bel leaves are offered to Lord Vishnu. There is a legend regarding Vaikuntha Chaturdashi that on this date, Lord Vishnu offered a thousand lotuses to his beloved deity, Lord Shiva.
These tasks are considered auspicious
On the day of Vaikuntha Chaturdashi, the meeting of Hari and Har, waking up in the Brahma Muhurta in the morning and bathing in a holy river is considered highly auspicious. Some devotees also observe a fast and night vigil on this day. Chanting the mantras of Lord Vishnu and Mahadev can also benefit devotees.
