Ashwatthama Balirvyaso Hanumansch Vibhishana:.

Kripa: Parshuramashcha Saptaitai Chirjivin:॥

Saptaitaan sansmarennityam markandeyamthashtamam.

Jivevedvarshashant Sopi is prohibited from all diseases.

This verse mentions the 7 Chinanjivis - Ashwatthama, Bali, Vyasa, Hanuman, Vibhishana, Kripa and Parashurama along with the sage Markandeya.

1. Veda Vyasa

Maharishi Ved Vyas, son of Satyavati and Rishi Parashar, is also included in the list of Chinanjivis. He has composed many important texts along with the Mahabharata and the four Vedas.

2. Ashwatthama

Ashwatthama is known as a powerful warrior of the Mahabharata period and the son of Dronacharya. Ashwatthama received immortality not as a boon but as a curse.

According to the Mahabharata, Ashwatthama killed the sons of the Pandavas to take revenge for the death of his father Dronacharya. Due to this, Lord Krishna took away the gem from his forehead and cursed him that till the end of the world he would wander on the earth with this wound.

3. Parashurama

Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, is also one of the 8 immortals. It is said that Parashuram had made the earth free of Kshatriyas 21 times. He was an eternal devotee of Lord Shiva and pleased with his devotion, Mahadev himself blessed him with immortality.

4. Vibhishan

Vibhishan has been one of the main characters of Ramayana. Vibhishan did not support his brother Ravana and instead supported Lord Shri Ram in the war. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shri Ram blessed him with immortality.

5. King Bali

Prahlada's grandson and a mighty demon king Bali is also one of the Ashtachiranjeevis. He was banished to Patala by the Vamana avatar of Lord Vishnu.

6. Krupacharya

Kripacharya has been an important character in the Mahabharata, who is known as a knowledgeable and revered guru of that period. It is believed that due to his penance and devotion, he was blessed with immortality.

8. Markandeya

In the shloka, along with the 7 immortals, sage Markandeya is also mentioned. Markandeya was short-lived, but he composed the Mahamrityunjaya mantra and performed penance. Pleased with this, Lord Shiva saved his life from Yamraj and gave him the boon of being immortal.
