News Topical, Digital Desk : In Gorakhpur, a woman attending her cousin's wedding was murdered by slitting her throat. Her blood-soaked body was found in the bathroom of her home. The incident sparked outcry. Wedding ceremonies were halted for a short time. Upon receiving the information, police and a dog squad arrived at the scene and began investigating the case.

It's worth noting that 20-year-old Shivani Nishad was married just six months ago in Deoria. She had come to her parents' home on Friday (November 21st) for the wedding of her uncle's daughter. Her home was 200 meters away from the wedding. After the jaimala ceremony, Shivani returned home at 2 a.m.

Girl's body found in bathroom

When Shivani didn't return for a long time, her mother went home looking for her. Her body was lying in the bathroom. The mother screamed upon seeing her daughter's body. People from the wedding home rushed to the scene. The incident occurred on the night of Sunday (November 23) and Monday (November 24) in Jungle Rasulpur No. 2 village, located in the Jhangha police station area. This village is approximately 30 kilometers from the district headquarters.

On one hand, there were wedding rituals and on the other, there was a murder. The perpetrator of the crime remains unknown. Shivani was married in Awasthi village, under the Rudrapur police station area of ​​Deoria. Her husband, Bhim Nishad, works as a painter. 

She had come to her uncle's daughter's wedding. 

Shivani's father, Radheshyam, died 10 years ago. Shivani was the middle child of three daughters and a son. She had been living at her in-laws' home since her marriage. Her uncle Basant Nishad's daughter, Amita, was getting married on Sunday (November 23). She had come to her parents' home on Friday (November 21) to attend the wedding. 

Her uncle's house is about 200 meters away from her house. Her mother, Nohra Devi, said that Shivani left the house around 2 a.m. She assumed she had gone to change. When she didn't return for a long time, her mother went looking for her. She called out to Shivani but got no response. 

Afterward, she went to the bathroom and saw Shivani's hand. When the mother went inside, she saw a bloodied body lying there, blood still oozing from her neck. Shivani's husband was then called. 

What did the local people say about the incident?

Locals reported that Shivani's finger was cut. It appears she struggled to defend herself from the killer. According to residents, blood stains were scattered throughout the bathroom. Following the murder, the wedding ceremonies for the uncle's daughter were halted. The necessary rituals were completed a short time later. The wedding procession then departed in the morning.

SP North Gyanendranath Prasad said that at 2:45 in the morning, a boy called and said that his sister was lying injured and had been brutally beaten. Police arrived at the scene and rushed the girl to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Police have detained a suspect in this case and are interrogating him and taking further legal action.
