A panacea for the heart and joints
According to Acharya Balkrishna, if consumed properly, garlic is extremely beneficial for heart health. It helps reduce bad cholesterol in the blood, thereby controlling blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart disease. Furthermore, people often complain of joint pain and stiffness during winter. Consuming garlic also provides relief from these problems.
Immunity Booster & Detox
Immunity weakens during winter, making colds more likely. Garlic helps maintain body heat and boosts immunity. Acharya Ji explains that it also helps remove toxins from the body and improve blood circulation.
To maximize the benefits of garlic, Acharya Balkrishna has suggested a specific way to consume it:
- Soaking overnight: Peel and soak 1-2 garlic cloves in water overnight. Drink this water in the morning on an empty stomach, or chew the garlic cloves. This method is most effective for controlling cholesterol and blood pressure.
- With lukewarm water: You can also take 1-2 raw buds with lukewarm water in the morning on an empty stomach.
Garlic oil for pain: Acharya Ji recommends garlic oil massage for joint pain, swelling, or muscle stiffness. The recipe is very simple:
- Crush about 50 grams of garlic.
- Cook it in 100 to 200 grams of mustard, coconut or olive oil.
- When the garlic turns black, strain the oil and store it. Massaging the affected area with this oil provides significant relief. It also strengthens the nervous system and calms the Vata Dosha.
