Pollution is still at a bad level in the capital, there is a blanket of smog in most of the areas. In view of the increasing pollution, GRAP-4 has already been implemented in Delhi and now from today, more strictness is being maintained in Delhi. For the last few days, due to low visibility at Delhi International Airport, flight operations have faced a lot of problems, due to which different airlines had to cancel flights. Today, due to low visibility in NCR, the speed of a large number of trains has also reduced. Due to low visibility, more than 22 trains are running several hours behind their scheduled time.

Fog stopped the speed of these trains-

  • 19272 Haridwar Bhavnagar Express – 1 hour 7 minutes late
  • 12417 Prayagraj Express – 4 hours 4 minutes late 
  • 12427 Rewa Anand Vihar Express – 3 hours 57 minutes late 
  • 22435 New Delhi Vande Bharat Express – 8 hours 52 minutes late 
  • 11841 Geeta Jayanti Express – 1 hour 40 minutes late 
  • 14241 Nauchandi Express – about 5 hours late
  • 13257 Anand Vihar Terminal Jansadharan Express – Around 12 hours late
  • 12557 Sapt Kranti Express – about 45 minutes late 
  • 12429 New Delhi AC Superfast Express – takes about 45 minutes 
  • 12229 Lucknow Mail – about 55 minutes late
  • 14207 Padmavat Express – Around 4 hours late
  • 12225 Kaifiyat Express – about 4 hours

Over 35 flights delayed at Delhi airport

Due to low visibility, 24 flights were cancelled at Delhi Airport till Wednesday night. Dense fog still looms around Indira Gandhi International Airport today. Visibility is very low, so many flights are likely to be cancelled today as well. Low visibility has created a major crisis at Delhi Airport. Currently, 22 flights are departing from Delhi Airport behind schedule. 

Let us tell you that Delhi Airport is the busiest airport in the country, where about 1,300 flights operate daily.  

Air India and Indigo issued advisory

Air India has also issued an advisory regarding the possibility of poor visibility over the next few days. It states that this could impact the airline's primary hub in Delhi and some other airports in northern and eastern India, as well as some other cities. It also outlines the steps the airline is taking to mitigate the difficulties caused by fog. Passengers will be provided 24-hour assistance to make other arrangements.
