News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Europe is headed in a very bad direction, just days after criticizing the island nation for its large-scale migration in his new security strategy.

The US president took aim at the $140 million fine imposed by the European Union on the prominent industrialist's former social network, though he admitted he didn't know much about it.

What did Trump say?

Speaking to reporters, Trump said, "Look, Europe has to be very careful. [They're] doing a lot of things. We want to keep Europe Europe."

He further said that Europe is going in some very bad directions. It's very bad, very bad for the people. We don't want Europe to change so much. They're going in some very bad directions.

Why is tension increasing between EU and America?

Significantly, differences are growing between Trump and European countries over the US plan to end the Ukrainian war. There are fears in Europe that the US wants to force Ukraine to cede territory to Russia.
