Malaika wrote, "We are deeply saddened to inform you about the death of our father Anil Mehta. He was a wonderful, loving husband and our best friend. Our family is shocked by his demise, so we request the media and our well-wishers to give us some privacy in this hour of grief. We appreciate your understanding, support and respect."
