News Topical, Digital Desk : On Tuesday morning (December 2nd), tensions once again erupted at the disputed Bhojshala/Kamal Maula Mosque complex, Madhya Pradesh's most sensitive religious heritage site. As usual, the entire Hindu community gathered for darshan, worship, and the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa. However, during the event, a dispute arose between the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the Hindu community.

Hindu organizations had brought a new oil painting (cutout) of Goddess Vagdevi (Saraswati) with them, which they were planning to take inside for worship. However, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials confiscated the painting and refused to allow it inside. The situation became tense for a while.

What did the Bhoj Utsav Committee say on the issue?

The president of the Bhoj Utsav Committee says that every Tuesday we perform a Satyagraha for Mataji with an oil painting. This time our oil painting was simply altered; it was not allowed inside and was confiscated. We protest against this. While all the painting and programs are being conducted without the permission of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), this discrimination should not happen, and our oil painting should be returned, otherwise we will launch a fierce protest.

Hindu organizations made allegations

Hindu organizations also alleged that, in the name of Urs preparations, the premises were being painted and painted without permission, while the Hindu side was constantly obstructed. This action by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has further fueled resentment among the Sakal Hindu Samaj and the Bhoj Utsav Samiti.

The Hindu community warned that if the confiscated painting is not returned soon and the unauthorized activities are not stopped, they will be forced to launch a violent protest. It should be noted that since January 23rd falls on a Friday, the administration is already facing challenges regarding the Vasant Panchami festival. This new controversy appears to be fueling the growing tensions at the Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque.
