News Topical, Digital Desk : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today presented cheques of ₹1 crore each to the families of 11 government employees who lost their lives in the line of duty during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said this was not just financial assistance, but a symbol of the government's gratitude and respect for their courage, service, and sacrifice.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the selfless service and courage of these brave employees will live on forever in hearts and teach future generations the values of duty, compassion, and dedication. She also stated that while this grief cannot be fully alleviated by any government, it is the government's moral responsibility to provide all possible assistance to these families.
Rekha Gupta targeted the Kejriwal government
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also targeted the previous government, saying that the legal rights of these families were ignored for years. While the entire world was confined to their homes, our doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, paramedics, and other frontline workers remained steadfast in serving the public.
"Unfortunately, their families had to wait a long time to receive their due," said Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who distributed cheques totaling ₹1 crore to the martyrs' families. She also attacked the previous government.
Assistance given to the families of these employees
Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Inderaj Singh was also present on the occasion. The employees whose families received this financial assistance include V. Nangthanlian (Department of Trade and Taxes), Raj Bala Garg (GTB Hospital), Babita (CBPACS), and Rohan Joshi (MCD).
Apart from these, the CM has provided assistance to the families of Dr. Ravindra Kumar Goyal (DGHS), Aniyamma Reji (MAMC), Biswajit Das (DTC), Rajesh Kumar (Department of Education), Dr. Naveen Ram (BSF), Dr. Vijay Singh Rajan (BSF) and Arun Sood (DHS).
