On this occasion, he prayed to the great yogi, the incarnation of Shiva, for the welfare of the people and for a happy and prosperous life for all citizens.

After offering Khichdi to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath, Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens, saints, and devotees on Makar Sankranti. Speaking to media on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that since Wednesday, millions of devotees across the state have been visiting sacred religious sites to pay their respects.

On Wednesday, millions of devotees in Gorakhpur offered sacred Khichdi (a sacred offering of khichdi) to the great yogi, Lord Gorakhnath. Millions of devotees also took a holy dip in the Sangam in Prayagraj. The Chief Minister said this practice continued today, Thursday.

CM Yogi said that today, Thursday, in Gorakhpur, millions of devotees are lining up to offer khichdi with devotion to express their faith in Lord Gorakhnath. He said that it is my good fortune that I too have the opportunity to offer the sacred khichdi of faith to Lord Gorakhnath after the special puja at the Gorakhnath Temple is completed at 4 am. He informed that millions of devotees have come to the Gorakhnath Temple to offer the sacred khichdi of faith.

The Chief Minister said that Makar Sankranti is a very important festival in India's tradition of festivals and celebrations. In fact, the Sun God is the soul of this universe. This festival, dedicated to the worship of the Sun, the Father of the Universe, is considered a favorable date for all auspicious and auspicious events. From today onwards, all auspicious events will begin in the tradition of Sanatan Dharma.

CM Yogi said that according to astrological tradition, the solar solstice is divided into 12 different parts. The transition of the Sun from one zodiac sign to another is called Sankranti, and when the Sun transits from Sagittarius to Capricorn, it is called Makar Sankranti. From Capricorn, the Sun will remain in Uttarayan for the next six months, i.e., until Gemini. During Uttarayan, the days are longer and the nights are shorter. The importance of sunlight for vitality and the importance given to it by India's Rishi tradition can be gauged through the festival of Iva.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Makar Sankranti is a festival celebrated under different names and forms in all parts of the country, including the east, west, north, and south. Makar Sankranti is celebrated with great devotion as Bihu or Tilwa Sankranti in the east, Lohri in the west, Pongal in South India, and Khichdi Sankranti in North India. Greeting devotees from across the country and the world at various religious sites across the state on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, the Chief Minister expressed his best wishes to all.

He said that on one hand, millions of devotees in Gorakhpur are offering khichdi of faith to Baba Gorakhnath. Meanwhile, in Prayagraj, millions of devotees, Kalpavasis, and revered saints are present on the land of Prayagraj, not only engaged in their spiritual practice but also taking a holy dip of faith in the confluence in the presence of Lord Beni Madhav, Lord Prayagraj, and Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, and Mother Saraswati.
