News Topical, Digital Desk : The Ramnagari city of Ayodhya appears to be moving away from the banks of the sacred Saryu River, sparking intense political debate over this issue. Awadhesh Prasad, Lok Sabha MP from the Faizabad constituency, which includes Ayodhya, and a Samajwadi Party leader, has targeted the Yogi Adityanath government in the state, leveling serious allegations against it.
SP MP Awadhesh Prasad attacked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the Saryu River's declining water level and the current moving away from the ghats , blaming the government's flawed policies and projects. The SP MP alleged that sand worth crores of rupees was excavated and sold, impacting the Saryu's flow.
SP MP made serious allegations against the government
Awadhesh Prasad said that the main stream of the Saryu River is now flowing towards Gonda instead of Ayodhya, which is a very serious issue. He will raise this issue in the Lok Sabha and present his views. He claimed that even at Ram's ghat, there is no water, and arrangements are being made by filling water from hand pumps. He called this a tampering with the image and faith of Ayodhya.
Accused of damaging historical monuments
Giving religious reference, the SP MP said that Goswami Tulsidas has also written in Ramayana – 'Uttar Disi Bah Saryu Pavan' but the present government is damaging this historical and religious heritage through its projects.
Awadhesh Prasad claimed that if his government comes to power, the Saryu River and its ghats will be developed in a better way than before, and Ayodhya's dignity will be restored. Following this statement, political rhetoric regarding the Saryu River and development projects in Ayodhya has intensified. Summer has barely begun, and the flow of the Saryu River has receded from its ghats. Consequently, the political situation surrounding this issue is likely to intensify in the coming days.
