Conversions taking place in Punjab: Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that religious conversions are taking place in Punjab and appealed to the Bhagwant Mann government and the public to stop this "greed-driven" practice. Shah said at the "Hind-di-Chadar" event in Kharghar to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur that religious conversions are taking place in Punjab.
Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life to protect the religion of others. He faced persecution, but if today we prioritize conversion out of greed, we cannot be called followers of great leaders.
The Punjab government and society must stop religious conversions." Shah said that if Guru Tegh Bahadur had not sacrificed his life to protect Hinduism, not a single Hindu would have survived in the world. His sacrifice gives Hindus the courage to continue their struggle.
