Ahead of the UP elections, PM Modi finalized the ticket for this seat in Varanasi! He gave the signal with a pat on the back.

News Topical, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a two-day visit to Varanasi on April 28-29. On Wednesday, he visited the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi to offer prayers. Meanwhile, he met with Varanasi MLAs in the temple complex, and in his own unique way, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a powerful pat on the back to Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, MLA from South and former minister. Now, there is a lot of discussion in Varanasi politics that the MLA's ticket for the 2027 elections is almost final. 

On April 29th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Kashi to pay obeisance at the shrine of Baba Vishwanath. Members of Parliament from various regions of Varanasi were standing in the temple complex to welcome the Prime Minister. During the meeting, the Prime Minister spoke with all the MLAs and discussed the local people. He then gave a hearty pat on the back to Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, the MLA from the southern region, and even exchanged pleasantries with him. 

According to information received from the Varanasi MLA, the Prime Minister inquired about the well-being of the local population and had a casual conversation. However, discussions are now swirling in Varanasi's political circles that the MLA whom the Prime Minister has supported is now considered a near-final candidate for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Although MLA Dr. Neelkanth has not commented on this matter, the Prime Minister's gesture is generating widespread discussion, from social media to the Southern Assembly. 

Why is the South Assembly the most talked about seat?

The South Assembly constituency of Varanasi is considered the district's most hotly contested constituency. The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies have swept all eight Varanasi seats over the past decade, but the South constituency has always been a closely contested constituency. While this constituency undoubtedly serves as a stronghold for the BJP, opposition parties have consistently targeted this constituency. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple complex and numerous sites of contemporary interest also fall within this constituency. And now, Prime Minister Modi's blessing of the local MLA has become the center of discussion.
