News Topical, Digital Desk : Amid heightened tensions following the joint US-Israeli strikes in Iran, concerns have grown over the safety of Indian students, particularly final-year MBBS students, stranded in Iran. The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has written to Prime Minister Modi, demanding his immediate intervention for the safe return of these students.

There are approximately 3,000 Indian students in Iran, most of whom are pursuing MBBS. Many of these students have upcoming exams but are unable to return due to the tense situation. Parents of the students have appealed to the Indian government for their safe return.

Appeal to the government for the safe return of children

Shabnam Bidiwala, whose daughter Fatima is studying MBBS in Iran, said, "We have been following the news since last Saturday and trying to contact our daughter. We hope the Indian government will take steps to ensure her safety."

Irfan Ali, whose daughter Mehraj is studying in Isfahan, Iran, said, "My daughter is in her final year and has only six months left to complete her studies. We appeal to the government to take steps to ensure the safety of our daughter and other Indian students."

Advice to avoid unnecessary travel

The Indian Embassy has advised Indian citizens in Iran to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel. "All Indian citizens in Iran are advised to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel and remain indoors," the embassy said.
