Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert regarding heavy rains in many states. Due to continuous rains, the water level of many rivers is flowing above the danger mark. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning that today there may be heavy rains along with thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, Haryana-Punjab including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky will remain cloudy in Delhi for the next one week and there is a possibility of intermittent light rain.
Flood wreaks havoc in these states
Due to continuous rains during the monsoon season, there is a threat of floods in many states of the country. These states include Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Let us tell you that Himachal Pradesh is the most affected state due to continuous monsoon rains and floods. So far 105 people have lost their lives due to floods and heavy rains in the state.
There is a danger of landslides in these states
In this monsoon season, there will be a danger of lightning, cloudburst and landslides in many states. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a danger of lightning in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. On the other hand, rivers in Goa, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand will be in spate due to heavy rains. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh within the next 24 hours.
Less than normal rain in these states
Many states like Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Ladakh have received more than normal rainfall. On the other hand, people are facing severe shortage of rain in many other states, especially in the northeastern and southern parts. If we talk about Jharkhand, then Jharkhand has received a total of 595.8 mm of rain, which is 71 percent more than normal. On the other hand, a huge increase in rainfall has been recorded in Rajasthan with 271.9 mm of rain.
Above normal rain in Gujarat
Gujarat received 388 mm rainfall, which is 64 percent more than normal. Let us tell you that many states and union territories have received normal rainfall. This means that the rainfall was within or below 19 percent of the normal range. This includes Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, Goa, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
