
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Central Government has approved a special assistance amount of Rs 821.26 crore for the development of the capital Delhi under the 'Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI)' 2025-26.
According to the Delhi government, 66 percent of the approved amount has been released in the first installment. The Delhi government will have to spend this assistance amount on projects like health, education, housing, transport, water, electricity and metro.
What did CM Rekha Gupta say about the funds received from the Center?
According to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, this fund will help Delhi move towards the goal of 'Developed Delhi' and an amount of Rs 716 crore has been approved by the central government for 33 infrastructure projects under Part-I which includes schemes related to health, education, drinking water, electricity, housing and transport.
Apart from this, an additional amount of Rs 105.26 crore has been approved for priority projects of Metro Rail Transit System (MRTS) Phase-4 under Part-III, which the Chief Minister of Delhi has described as a concrete step in line with the vision of 'Developed India'.
According to the Chief Minister's Office of the Delhi Government, the Delhi Government had submitted the proposals on time and in a proper manner through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) portal, due to which the approval was received without any delay and the Delhi Government claims that these projects will not only strengthen public services, transport and infrastructure, but will also boost employment and economic activities.
Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to PM Modi
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi , Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the immediate help received from the Center and said that the government will complete these projects within the stipulated time frame, in a transparent and quality-rich manner so that the citizens of the capital can get direct benefit from them. The Chief Minister also indicated that in the coming time she will again approach the Center with a demand for more assistance for Delhi.
