News Topical, Digital Desk : On Friday, heavy stone-pelting broke out between two communities in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, a Muslim youth was stealing cow dung cakes from a Hindu villager. A farmer spotted him and caught him red-handed. Following this, people supporting the Muslim youth resorted to heavy stone-pelting. Police were informed of the incident and immediately arrived at the scene. The stone-pelters fled the scene before the police arrived. Police admitted approximately six people injured in the stone-pelting to the hospital for treatment.
According to reports, farmer Surendra, in the village of Kathikheda in the Hapur police station area, had been facing thefts of cow dung cakes for quite some time. The farmer increased his surveillance on his cow dung cakes. On Friday, Surendra caught a young man, Qadir, from the Muslim community in a neighboring village, red-handed while stealing cow dung cakes. When Qadir's family members learned of this, they gathered and began pelting Surendra and his family with stones.
Half a dozen injured in stone pelting
The stone pelting caused a stir. Upon receiving the information, CO City Varun Mishra and police from the rural police station arrived at the scene. The accused fled the scene before the police arrived. Around half a dozen people, including Sher Singh, Ankit, Ranveer, Meenakshi, Prince, Vijaypal, Kunal, Dhanwati, etc., were injured in the stone pelting. The police admitted the injured to the hospital for treatment. The police have begun investigating the entire incident. The village remains completely peaceful.
Action will be taken after investigation
CO Varun Mishra stated that a minor altercation between two parties escalated into a dispute. Upon receiving the information, the police took control of the situation. The injured are undergoing medical treatment. The entire incident is being investigated, and action will be taken against those found guilty. Meanwhile, tension remains in the village following the incident, and a heavy police force has been deployed.
