News Topical, Digital Desk : Azad Samaj Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad, representing the Nagina constituency in Uttar Pradesh, has issued a statement on the Central Armed Police Forces Bill, 2026. He stated that Group A officers are being discriminated against here and that he will ensure that amendments to timely promotions are included in the bill.

Chandrashekhar Azad said that the CAPF bill is about to be introduced in the Rajya Sabha. Yesterday, I had raised the issue in Zero Hour, but since it was postponed, I was unable to present my point. The CAPF, our central force, numbers over one million.

Chandrashekhar Azad spoke on the CAPF bill

The Nagina MP said that first we must understand that our CISF, CRPF, BSF, SSB, and ITBP are the forces that stand on the front lines, sacrifice their lives and fight for the country. Whether it's Assam, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, or Naxal-affected, armed conflict, and terror-affected areas, they stand on the front lines and sacrifice their lives. SI Imtiaz also sacrificed his life in Operation Sindoor . From Parliament to VIP security and border security, these forces provide security everywhere.

However, the discrimination faced by Group A officers is wrong. We should be boosting the morale of our force, but we are undermining their morale. We are consistently denying them promotions and failing to listen to their concerns. When the morale of those serving the country is low, how will this fight progress?

Timely revision of promotions should be included

He said that the government was supposed to respond yesterday but couldn't. Now they're introducing a bill. So we'll try to ensure that even if they do introduce a bill, it includes amendments to ensure they receive timely promotions, just like other employees and officers receive promotions.

There are over 13,000 officers in the security forces who are suffering. We stand with them. I also demand that our soldiers be awarded martyrdom status upon their death. We will strive to ensure that this includes amendments for timely promotions, as are available to other officers.

The CAPF Bill, 2026, seeks to regulate the recruitment, deputation, promotion, and service conditions of officers in the Central Armed Forces under a uniform law. Currently, different laws apply to CISF, CRPF, BSF, SSB, and ITBP. The government believes that the lack of a uniform structure leads to conflicts within the administrative services.
