That huge monster seemed invincible, and they all defeated him so easily. It was a joke, a mockery. There was no sacrificial death. Then again, perhaps the script's mistake was killing off Eleven, a girl who deserved a happy ending, with a father, a partner, and a group of friends. She had a terrible childhood, being tortured and abused.
It reminds me of the last episode of Game of Thrones, that weird and pathetic ending of killing Daenerys off like that. By the way, what's up with long-running series and their finales?
