Vishal Bhardwaj revealed
Now, recently, news is circulating about Vikrant Massey, who has joined the film's cast, claiming he didn't charge any fees for the film. According to a report in the Free Press Journal, Vishal explained that Vikrant agreed to the film several years ago when he was trying to make a mark in the industry. Since then, the actor has established a strong reputation for himself, including the tremendous success of 12th Fail.
Why did Vikrant Massey not take any fees?
It turns out that when Bhardwaj spoke to Massey again, he fulfilled his commitment and, in fact, refused to accept any remuneration. He told the director how Maqbool inspired him to grow as an actor and changed his life. He also said that playing the role in the film felt like a tribute to him, and so, despite his busy schedule with his film lineup, he shot for 8-9 days for the film.
Tamanna also did not take any fees
Speaking about Tamannaah, Bhardwaj explained how she agreed to be a part of the film without any money, and that even though the budget was limited, her role wasn't just about the financial aspect. In fact, even though her role in O Romeo is small, her character brings a major twist to the story, and she agreed to shoot for the film for approximately 12 days. Furthermore, she was also part of workshops and rehearsals to better understand the character.
Speaking of O Romeo, the film also stars Disha Patani, Avinash Tiwari, Farida Jalal, and Nana Patekar. The film has been in the news ever since its teaser was released, and because it's based on the life of Hussain Ustara, it's been embroiled in numerous controversies. For those unaware, Shahid plays a hitman caught between love and violence in Mumbai's underworld.
