Now travel will be toll-free
For a few days, you'll be able to travel on this route without paying tolls, as the toll plaza isn't fully ready. The toll company hasn't even been awarded the contract. This entire process could take one to two weeks.
It will take time to build a rest area, keep water with you.
Wayside amenities, or rest areas, will be built in two locations in Baghpat: near Katha and Bijraul. Construction has just begun, and it will take at least three to four months to take shape. No arrangements for refreshments or other amenities have been made along the entire highway. Therefore, it would be advisable for travelers to carry water and food with them.
Rest areas will be built on both sides of the Delhi and Dehradun routes. Five rest areas are being built between Baghpat and Saharanpur. Two are in Baghpat, a third in Shamli, a fourth in Muzaffarnagar, and a fifth in Saharanpur. These areas will include facilities such as electric vehicle charging, petrol pumps, food courts, shopping centers, game plazas, and toilets.
accident detection cameras
Accident detection cameras are installed along the entire highway. The Advanced Traffic Management System's control room will receive immediate information about any accident. Help will arrive immediately at the scene. Additionally, automatic challans will be issued for traffic violations such as overspeeding and wrong driving.
Reaching Delhi in just 20 minutes
Starting from the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, this highway extends 31.6 kilometers to Khekra. Trial runs began on November 30th. This makes the journey from Baghpat to Delhi a mere 20 minutes. This is greatly benefiting local entrepreneurs and daily commuters.
Earlier I had to get stuck in traffic jams
Previously, traffic jams at Khajuri Pushta, Loni, and the Shahdara roundabout were often stuck for hours. During the rainy season, the situation worsened. Now, we're free from all this. Time and fuel savings are also being achieved. A large number of freight vehicles are also using this route. There's a toll plaza in Loni on this stretch. Currently, toll is not required on this stretch either.
The largest part is in Baghpat
The largest portion of this highway, 42.8 kilometers, lies in Baghpat. It passes through 31 villages in the district. This has made it a highway of progress for Baghpat. There are also plans to develop an industrial area around it.
