Pretending to buy jewelry for his sister's wedding, he stole five gold rings worth lakhs of rupees from a shop in the bullion market. However, police arrested the accused after examining approximately 150 CCTV cameras. According to reports, Nahid, a resident of Nagla Riawali village in the Ratanpuri police station area, visited Sharma Jewellers in the bullion market in the city Kotwali area on February 2nd. Citing his sister's wedding, he asked for jewelry. Seizing the opportunity, he fled with five gold rings. Following the incident, the shop owner filed a police complaint.

Police recovered 5 stolen gold rings

Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police launched an investigation and examined footage from approximately 150 CCTV cameras installed nearby. Following this, the accused, Nahid, was arrested. Police recovered all five stolen gold rings from him.

The accused became a thief to pay off his debt.

According to the police, the accused has been sent to jail after interrogation. Police investigations have revealed that this was the first time the accused had committed such a crime. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was in debt and took this extreme step due to a financial need.

Police taking further action in the matter

CO City Siddharth K. Mishra stated that the incident occurred between 6 and 7 pm on February 2nd. After registering a case, the police launched a continuous search. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested and the items recovered. Further investigation is underway.
