It is alleged that nine men surrounded the husband and wife, who were fleeing for their lives, and the woman was subjected to extreme abuse. She was not only assaulted but also had her private parts touched inappropriately. Nearly a year after the incident, on the orders of the district court, the Surajpur Kotwali police have filed a case against five named and four unidentified accused.

The victim, a 27-year-old resident of Mahamedha Wali Gali in Surajpur, alleges that on March 8, 2025, he and his wife went to the house of their neighbor, Mohammad Arif, to complain. The man claims that Faizan, who lived in Arif's house, regularly made objectionable and obscene gestures toward his wife. When he went to complain, Mohammad Arif, his wife Afreen, his sister, his brother-in-law Azad, Faizan, and four others became enraged.

The couple somehow managed to escape, but were surrounded on the way. It is alleged that both were assaulted and the woman was molested. Hearing the noise, people gathered around and the accused threatened to kill her and fled. The victims called 112 to inform the police, but they allege that the police arrived at the scene and took no concrete action, instead detaining their brother in the police station. Due to continued threats and a lack of hearing, the victims approached the court, after which a case has now been registered.
