How to please Lord Vishnu?

On this day, wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and wear yellow clothes. Take a vow to observe the fast in front of an idol or picture of Lord Vishnu at your place of worship. The use of yellow flowers, sandalwood, whole grains, and basil leaves is essential during the puja.

According to religious beliefs, worshipping Goddess Lakshmi along with Lord Vishnu on this day brings happiness and prosperity to the home. Chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" during the puja. If possible, recite the Vishnu Sahasranama on this day.

What should be offered as bhog?

Special attention is paid to the offerings on Vijaya Ekadashi. Offering yellow sweets or saffron-flavored kheer to Lord Vishnu on this day is considered highly auspicious. Most importantly, the offering must include basil leaves, as Lord Vishnu does not accept offerings without basil. Break the fast with charanamrit and basil leaves.
