According to a report by Centrum Institutional Research, the number of people earning more than Rs 10 crore every year in the country has increased by 63 percent in the last five years. The number of people earning more than Rs 5 crore has increased
There are 58,200 people in the country who earn more than Rs 5 crore every year.
The number of people earning more than Rs 50 lakh increased by 25 per cent in five years.
More than 10 lakh people now earn more than Rs 50 lakh every year.
The combined income of those earning more than Rs 10 crore increased by 121 per cent.
The combined income of those earning more than Rs 10 crore is Rs 38 lakh crore.
The combined income of those earning more than Rs 5 crore increased by 106 percent.
The total income of those earning more than Rs 5 crore is Rs 40 lakh crore.
Only 15 percent of financial assets are managed by professionals
The report says that the number of high-earning people and their income is increasing in the country. Despite this, only 15 percent of financial assets are managed by professionals. Whereas in developed countries 75 percent of financial assets are managed by professionals.
Financial assets of high net worth individuals will be Rs 2.2 trillion in 2028
The report estimates that the financial wealth of high net worth individuals (HNIs) and ultra high net worth individuals (UHNIs) will grow to $2.2 trillion in calendar year 2028 from $1.2 trillion in 2023. The number of HNIs and UHNIs will grow by 13-14 per cent every year during 2023-28. Those with financial assets of more than $1 million are called HNIs and those with financial assets of $3 million are called UHNIs.
