New Delhi: India's economy is growing very fast. In the last few quarters, it has performed better than the estimates of reputed rating agencies. India is currently the fifth largest economy in the world. But, it can soon become the third largest economy in the world. Then only China and America will be ahead of India.
G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant says that India will contribute 20 percent to global growth in the next decade through large-scale investments to become the third largest economy. G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said at the AIMA conference, "In the next three years, we will leave behind Japan and Germany and become the third largest economy of the world. The special thing is that while the world is yearning for development, during this time India has emerged as a very resilient power."
Amitabh Kant said, "If India has to grow at 9-10 percent in the next three decades and become a developed economy by 2047, we will have to make reforms on a very large scale. This means that many states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, which represent about 50 percent of the country's population, need to change.
He said that the top 50 percent of India's population actually promotes development and prosperity. The bottom 50 percent of the population lives mainly in rural areas and is dependent on agricultural wages or government welfare schemes. In such a situation, it is important that we bring change in the lives of the bottom 50 percent of the people.
