New Delhi: Due to the boom in imports and the pace of domestic business activities, the total GST collection of the government in August 2024 has been Rs 1,74,962 crore. This is 10 percent more than August 2023. The total GST collection in the first five months of the financial year 2024-25 has been Rs 8,29,796, which is 10.1 percent more than the previous financial year.

According to the data released by the Finance Ministry on Sunday, in the month of August, domestic GST collection was Rs 1,24,296 crore and GST collection from imports was Rs 49,976 crore. There has been an increase of 9.2 and 12.1 percent respectively. According to the data of the Finance Ministry, it also shows that the pace of GST collection by the government has also increased. The total refund has been Rs 24,460 crore, which is 38 percent more than August 2023.

If we calculate after excluding the refund, then the net GST collection has been Rs 1,50,501 crore, which is 6.5 percent more than in August 2023. Last month GST was Rs 1.82 lakh crore, which was Rs 1.65 lakh crore after refund etc.
