New Delhi: Elon Musk, the charismatic CEO of electric car maker Tesla, can become the world's first trillionaire (net worth of at least one trillion US dollars) by 2027. Indian businessmen are also not going to be far behind. Adani Group owner Gautam Adani can be included in the list of billionaires by 2028 and Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani by 2033. This information has been received from the report of Informa Connect Academy.

How will Elon Musk become the first trillionaire?

Elon Musk is currently the world's richest businessman with a net worth of $237 billion. If he wants to become the world's first trillionaire by 2027, his wealth will need to increase by 110 percent annually. Gautam Adani is currently ranked 13th in the World Billionaires Index with a net worth of less than $100 billion. If his empire spanning from ports to power continues to grow at the current average annual rate of 123 percent, he may become the world's second trillionaire.

Mukesh Ambani will become the third trillionaire

Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani is now Asia's richest man with a net worth of $111 billion. However, he could achieve trillionaire status only in 2033. His conglomerate, which ranges from oil to telecom and retail, is set to reach trillion-dollar market cap status in 2035. Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd. is the only Indian company that could reach that milestone.

Companies that have touched the trillion-dollar market cap mark include Taiwanese semiconductor maker TSMC. Its market cap is currently $893.7 billion. It could achieve this status by next year. It will be followed by pharma giant Eli Lilly, Broadcom and Tesla.

No one is a trillionaire yet

According to a report by Informa Connect Academy, "So far no businessman in the world has claimed to have achieved the status of a trillionaire. However, there are some potential multi-billionaire candidates who will probably become trillionaires sooner or later". After Elon Musk and Gautam Adani, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang, Indonesian businessman Prajogo Pangestu, French businessman Bernard Arnault and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg are included in the list of potential trillionaires.

There are only a few companies that have crossed the $1 trillion valuation. These include Microsoft, Nvidia, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, Saudi Aramco and Meta. The most recent case was Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway in late August. Nvidia also joined the $1 trillion club in May 2023. Its valuation reached $3 trillion in June, making it the second most valuable company in the world. Microsoft is ahead of it and Apple is behind.
