News Topical, Digital Desk : A terrible accident occurred on Monday in Pakistan's south-eastern province of Sindh, when three coaches of the Jaffar Express train going to Quetta derailed due to an explosion. One person was injured in this accident.
Pakistan Railways and local administration have started investigating this accident so that the real cause of the accident can be revealed.
Sukkur Railway Divisional Superintendent Jamshed Alam said the Jaffar Express was travelling from Peshawar to Quetta when three coaches of the train derailed due to an explosion near Shikarpur.
After the blast, train movement was halted and passengers had to face great difficulties. Rescue teams were immediately dispatched from Sukkur.
There have been attacks before
Railway officials say that it may take at least five more hours to repair the track. During this time, train movement will be completely halted. This is not the first time that Jaffar Express has been targeted.
Earlier in June, four carriages of a train derailed in a remote-controlled bomb blast near Jacobabad. No one was injured in that attack, but the Baloch Republican Guards claimed responsibility for it.
Another horrific incident happened with Jaffar Express on 11th March when terrorists opened fire on the train and took more than 400 passengers hostage.
Such repeated accidents have raised questions about the safety of railways. The Sindh administration has ordered an inquiry into this latest accident to find out who caused the blast and why.
Anger among locals
The railway and local police are investigating the matter together. After the accident, the local people and passengers are scared and angry. They say that such repeated attacks are putting their lives in danger. The railway administration has assured that the track will be repaired soon and train movement will be restored.
