News Topical, Digital Desk : As soon as the voter list of Muzaffarpur district came out, the villagers of a village are worried. The matter is about the names of Muslim voters being added to the houses of Hindu families at many booths in Sakra assembly constituency. According to the villagers, no Muslim lives in this village, yet the names of Muslims were added to their home addresses. There is a lot of resentment among the villagers regarding this.
Both Hindu and Muslim voters live in the same house
The situation here is that both Hindu and Muslim voters live in the same house. When it was investigated, it was found that in booth number 223, Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Sahdullahpur, along with Poonam Devi, the voter of house number 2, there is the name of Ladli Khatoon, husband- Mohd. Islam. In house number 3, there are names of Ravindra Kumar, Seema Devi, Nisha Devi, Khushboo among the same family, but in the same list there is the name of Mohd. Junaid, father- Mohd. Nazir Ali.
In house number 4, 4 Muslim names were added in the name of a Hindu voter. In house number 10, a Muslim name was added in the name of a Hindu family. Many irregularities were also found in the booths of Katesar Panchayat Bhawan. In house number 36, 37 and 38, names of 15 Muslim voters have been added, whereas local people say that no Muslim family lives there.
Local Awadhesh Thakur says that “There are no Muslim voters in our village, but Muslim names have been added to almost every house. Umesh Thakur whose house number is 50. His family has been living in Tajpur, Samastipur for the last 20 years. The house is vacant, but he does not know how 7-8 Muslim names came to his address in the voter list.
The same Vishambar Thakur, house number 39 has 6 Hindu voters, but now 8 Muslim names have been added along with them. Another voter is Laxmi Sah whose house number is 56. Names of 11 Muslim voters are registered along with 7 Hindu voters. Santosh Thakur, whose house number is 51, has 6 Muslim names added along with 3 Hindu voters.
What do the villagers have to say about the irregularities?
Villagers say that "this is not just a mistake, it has been added as part of a conspiracy". People in the village are saying that all this cannot be just a mistake, it has been done in a planned manner. If someone else's name is left on our house, then tomorrow someone else will claim our property. Fake voting can be done at the time of elections. Until the irregularities are corrected, we will boycott the voting.
The villagers allege that they had complained about this matter to BLO Santosh Baitha, but no action was taken by him. Regarding the whole matter, BLO Renu Kumari of Ward 5 and 6 said, "I also do not know how this happened. The process of filling Form-8 has been started on the orders of the BDO."
