News Topical, Digital Desk : Big Order: IRCON International Ltd., the state government's engineering and construction company, announced that it has received a new contract worth ₹168.40 crore in Maharashtra under a joint venture with Finolex J-Power Systems Ltd. The contract was awarded by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) as a turnkey project, excluding GST. This news could impact the company's stock (Stock Market News) as soon as the market opens on Monday.

Double Circuit Transmission Line to be Constructed in Nagpur
Under this project, a 220kV double circuit (overhead and underground) transmission line will be constructed from the 400/220kV Koradi-II substation to the Mankapur substation in the Nagpur zone. The aim is to make the region's power supply more reliable and stable. The project will be completed in 18 months. IRCON holds a 51 percent stake in the IRCON-Finolex joint venture, while Finolex J-Power Systems Limited holds a 49 percent stake. The company stated that the project will be completed in 18 months, excluding the monsoon months. The company clarified that this order is a domestic works contract and does not involve any related party transaction. Furthermore, none of IRCON's promoters or group companies have any stake or business interest in MSETCL. 

IRCON received a contract worth ₹253.6 crore in May 2025. Previously, in May 2025, IRCON received a contract worth ₹253.6 crore from South Western Railway for the installation of the 'Kavach' train collision avoidance system. This demonstrates the company's strong progress on its projects in both the railway and power sectors. This new order is considered a significant milestone for both IRCON and Finolex in the power sector, strengthening the power infrastructure in Maharashtra. 

Ircon International Share Price: On Friday, IRCON International shares closed at ₹169.50. Over the past month, the stock has fallen 2.04% and gained 8.40% in the past six months. Over the past year, the stock has gained 12.24%, and year-to-date, it has gained 22.19%.
