News Topical, Digital Desk : Two criminals stole lakhs of rupees in Bengaluru's Bidarahalli area on Monday, February 16. They entered a house posing as police officers.
The criminals, posing as police officers, held the couple hostage at knife and gunpoint. They fled with ₹20 lakh in cash and about half a kilogram of gold.
The miscreants stole Rs 20 lakh
According to the local police station, 53-year-old Hombalegowda, his wife Mangalamma and their grandson were inside the house at the time of the incident.
One of the accused arrived in a private car wearing a sub-inspector's uniform and carrying a diary. The other, posing as a crime scene officer, entered the house carrying a bag.
Once inside the home, the miscreants threatened the family with guns and knives. They took the couple hostage and bound them with duct tape.
The miscreants then ransacked the bedroom and fled with approximately ₹20 lakh in cash and about half a kilogram of gold jewellery. They also took the couple's mobile phones.
The thieves removed the CCTV DVR from the house and took it with them before fleeing to destroy any evidence. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused.
