News Topical, Digital Desk : Rajasthan News: Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has strongly condemned the police detention of outgoing student union president Nirmal Chaudhary in Rajasthan University. Pilot said that the BJP government is trying to suppress the voice of youth and students in an undemocratic manner, which is unacceptable. He termed it a malicious action and said that it is wrong for the administration to target the opposition.
Sachin Pilot mentioned the recent agitation in Jodhpur after the death of a young doctor, in which the family members and the youth had demanded justice. He said that the government delayed this matter too much. If a solution had been found through dialogue earlier, then the anger among the people would not have spread. The protesters had to sit in the sun and rain for a week, which shows the insensitivity of the government.
'Violation of democratic rights'
Former Deputy CM Pilot stressed that it is the constitutional right of every public representative and citizen to stage protests. He alleged that the government and the police are trying to suppress the voice of opposition leaders by targeting them. He said, "No one has violated the law intentionally. It is their responsibility to put forward their point of view." He described such actions as motivated by a spirit of revenge.
Accused the government of lack of seriousness
He also raised questions on the attitude of the government towards its work. He said that there are flaws in the system and the careless attitude of the administration gives rise to such incidents. He cited the Udaipur incident and cases like detention in Rajasthan University as examples of the government's lack of seriousness. He warned that such actions can have serious consequences.
Congress strongly opposed
Pilot said that Congress will strongly oppose such undemocratic actions. He appealed to the government to resolve the problems through dialogue and persuasion. He said that suppressing voices by misusing power is dangerous for democracy.
